Be Part of a Gift Economy Project
Ego/Eco and Metta Earth are interested in economic processes that create paradigm CHANGE. We we would like the Winter WELL to move into an exploration of gift economy versus modern capitalism. Tapping into the wisdom of earth connected cultures, we see this as a form of radical activism, a change of narrative from the current systems that are creating enormous social injustices. Inspired by the Buddhist tradition of dana (donation) we want to actualize regenerative processes together.
DONATION for facilitation:
For this part of the W E L L program finances, we have consciously decided to shift from the normal charge of facilitator fees to a gift economy approach. We ask you to make a donation directly to your facilitators at the end of the retreat.
We offer a sliding scale for both the food and accommodation fees, and also for the facilitator donations to make these retreats more accessible.
Weekend: from 100 to 175 USD or 135 to 235 CAN
4 Day Week: From 175 to 275 USD or 235 370 CAN
Cash or check are options for donations.
Metta Earth is nestled in the quietude of the mountains, the stunning headwaters of the New Haven river with abundant waterfalls and pools for swimming, wilderness trails to walk or bike, and 158 acres of Metta Earth land to explore. The nearest town is Lincoln, VT (see full directions).
Meals are vegetarian and lovingly prepared with seasonal, local and organic foods. Much of our food comes from our own organic garden and farmstead. Participants have the opportunity to learn about harvesting, cooking, food storage, and other aspects of organic local food.
Options for sleeping accommodations include peaceful rooms in the main Metta Earth house, shared space in one of the yurts, or space to set up your own tent. The Metta Earth main house provides bathrooms, laundry, phones, wireless internet, library, kitchen and dining facilities, and teaching, study, and practice space.
